Creating, developing, implementing and evaluating an "Active" program, including through COVID.

Active Maribyrnong is a Maribyrnong City Council initiative launched in 2014 and has successfully engaged over 35,000 community members to become more physical and mentally active.

Active Maribyrnong delivers a number of annual key initiatives designed to engage the entire community including the Get Active! Expo and Spring into Summer Series.

Active Maribyrnong also has a focus on targeting the most inactive and underrepresented groups within our community including females, older adults, culturally and linguistically diverse individuals, people with disability and low-income households.

The program was also adapted in 2020 to address the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure the continued delivery of physical activity and mental wellbeing initiatives to our community.

Evaluation has been at the core of every single Active Maribyrnong program and this presentation will show the results of our programs and discuss the full lifespan of Active Maribyrnong, right from inception and creation through to now.
