Presentation:

PLA Advisory Workshop - How can PLA support members in responding to COVID-19 impacts and challenges

PLA Advisory will be hosting a conversation about how COVID-19 has impacted the parks and leisure sector. We would like to discuss what has changed in our return from COVID-19 restrictions; what are our current challenges across the sector and within our workplaces. Importantly, we want to workshop how can PLA support members in the short term future.

The findings of our conversations and research will help inform PLA Advisory discussions with the PLA Board about PLA's support to members and to enable our sector to thrive as we respond to this global pandemic.

Southland Regional Spaces and Places Strategy

Otium Planning Group has been working with Sport Southland in the development of the Southland Regional Spaces and Places Strategy. This project has involved the sport and recreation sector including Territorial Authorities (Invercargill City Council, Gore District Council and Southland District Council), funding partners, Regional Sports Organisation, facility operators, sport and recreation clubs and schools.

We now get the opportunity to share our learnings from working in Southland, New Zealand on this project with Sport Southland. The presentation will cover:

The project

  • The sport and recreation challenges faced in Southland
  • A different mix of project partners and the importance of coming together
  • A Southland approach to tackling these challenges.
  • The outcomes.

I also encourage you to visit NZ! The Travel Bubble means this is now possible. Southland people will welcome you into beautiful and spectacular places to visit and enjoy.
